Sometimes I think I should move!

Seriously, Why do I continue to live here!

Jess and I spent several hours and what might have been my last nerve shoveling and clearing the 3 foot drifts. All this with high winds and temps near zero. And to top it all off the plow took out my mailbox again!! I end up repairing my mailbox a few times each year. I tried to move it further away from the road but the letter carrier started sending me nasty grams, first it was too tall then it was too far from the road. I think I am going to have to talk to the local post master or something before I reinstall the damned thing!

Bah!!

Perhaps if you put a life-size cutout of Santa Claus attached to your mailbox, the plow would think twice about mowing it down? Would the driver want to risk being put on the perpetual 'naughty list'?

Or, perhaps next spring install a plow-proof post? Maybe reinforced concrete or a titanium alloy? Something that will make him think twice about doing it again next time.

Hmm. I know we can come up with something ...

Well we got the county to come out and install a temporary mailbox on Friday. They also marked the spot for the new post.

Also Jo since we are on a fairly heavily traveled county road we would probably be on the naughty list of we built something plowproof.

Well the county works department of Goodhue county was right on the job. The installed a temporary mailbox the day we called and had a new mailbox and post installed in just a few days. Thanks guys great job!

We left WI for Vancouver Island, Canada and are not looking back. We had one 2 inch snowfall in early Dec and that was it. Jan was mid to upper 50's for the most part and sunny. I really do like working in the gardens all year, even if some of it is weeding. Some stores here already have cool weather annuals out and perennials are in stock!
